Calculator data stays on your device
The solar calculator runs in your browser. It does not send your bill, tariff, state, roof area or result to SolarCost.in.
Basic hosting data
The site is published through GitHub Pages. GitHub and its service providers may process standard technical logs such as IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp and error data to deliver and secure the site. SolarCost.in does not control how long those logs are kept. Read GitHub’s privacy statement for the current provider policy.
If you email us, your mail provider and ours process the address, message and attachments you send. Do not include consumer numbers, identity documents, bank records or OTPs. We use messages to reply, investigate corrections and maintain an editorial record.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how the site performs. Google Analytics sets a cookie in your browser and sends Google usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device type, browser and time on page. It does not receive your name, email address or calculator inputs. Read Google’s explanation of how Analytics processes data for details. We do not set any advertising cookies at this time.
AdSense verification
This release includes the Google AdSense script only to verify site ownership. It does not create an ad unit or display ads by itself. When the script loads, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, requested page and time of the request. You can read Google’s explanation of how partners use data.
If advertising is added later
SolarCost.in does not currently display Google AdSense ads. If we later enable ad units, Google and its partners may place or read cookies and may use web beacons, IP addresses or similar identifiers to serve or measure ads. We will update this policy and add any required consent controls before serving those ads.
